An Indianapolis tech company has found itself right in the middle of the fight for the Stanley Cup.

Upper Hand Software
Several teams competing in this year’s National Hockey League playoffs used Upper Hand’s Save Review System to improve goalies’ performance. In fact, the program is being used by the two teams—the Washington Capitals and the Las Vegas Golden Knights—in this year’s Stanley Cup finals. Upper Hand’s SRS is the only video tagging and analysis software focused on hockey goalies, according to company officials. The platform provides “contextualized interactive data” so a goalie or coach can quickly identify trends like shot location, goalie quality and more, allowing teams to take immediate action on the strengths and weaknesses, said Upper Hand CEO Kevin MacCauley. Upper Hand, a maker of cloud-based sports management software, announced in April that it scored $1.5 million in venture funding from Houston-based Park Ten Capital.

Indianapolis Business Journal is a weekly newspaper published in Indianapolis, United States which reports on Central Indiana business.
