These lists are just a starting point for ChatGPT; there are endless ways to utilize it.

Creating ChatGPT prompts

Kevin encourages you to ask ChatGPT how to utilize it.

Example prompt: I own a sports business that offers sports performance training for athletes ages 12-18. Please provide ways I can use ChatGPT to help me run my business.

Once ChatGPT provides a list, you can use its ideas to create content.

Example prompt: Create a 3-week email campaign (1 email per week) to promote our summer volleyball camp- ages 6-18, all skill levels, co-ed. Here are some points to include:

  • The price will go up after June 15
  • The first 100 registrations receive a branded hoodie
  • We will have a mystery celebrity guest to run drills during our camp
  • The signup deadline is July 1

Creating custom GPTs

A GPT (generative pre-trained transformer) is a model you can utilize inside ChatGPT. The model remembers specific information you feed it. This may sound confusing, so we’ll provide some examples.

Drafting a GPT

In this example, we’ll create a GPT for generating marketing content. When drafting a GPT, you can explain your brand messaging, the tone of voice, and the ins and outs of your business. You also have the option to upload documents like a messaging guide, training manual, etc. The more context you provide, the better your crafted responses will be. When using a GPT, you don’t have to re-provide your marketing expectations or guidelines in every prompt.

On the ChatGPT web browser, click ‘Explore GPTs’ then ‘Create.’ Under the ‘Create’ tab, explain what purpose the GPT will serve.

Example: Create a marketing expert for my sports training business that creates content such as blogs, emails, promotions, etc.

Under the ‘Configure’ tab in the instructions box, explain more specifically how you want your GPT to sound. You can also upload documents here, such as a messaging guide or brand strategy, or toggle options such as allowing web browsing or DALLE image generation.

Example instructions: This GPT is designed to assist with marketing for a sports training business. It specializes in creating content such as blogs, emails, and promotional materials, It can provide tips on engaging potential clients, crafting compelling narratives, and optimizing marketing strategies to enhance the business’s visibility and customer engagement.

My sports training business is for ages 12-18 and trains in any sport. When writing content, use a concise, friendly tone that’s easy to understand. Use our website as a reference: https://uhsportstraining.com/

Under the ‘Configure’ tab, there are also conversation starters, offering prompts you can use for your business.
